Protox appoints Vice President, Business Development
Wednesday, July 13, 2005 - Vancouver, British Columbia - Protox Therapeutics
Inc. announced today that it has appointed Kevin McDuffie as Vice President,
Business Development.
Mr. McDuffie has over nineteen years of senior business development
experience in the life sciences field. Most recently as Senior Manager of
Business Development at Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation, he was
responsible for establishing collaboration agreements, leading partnership
negotiations and seeking potential business relationships worldwide. Prior to
Inex Mr. McDuffie managed the licensing, sales and marketing, new product
introductions, and financing of a proteomics startup company, Kinexus
Bioinformatics Corporation. He has negotiated several option and license
agreements with pharmaceutical industry partners during his five years tenure
at University Technologies International, the commercial arm of the University
of Calgary. Mr. McDuffie offers extensive experience in identifying, assessing,
patenting and marketing intellectual property with commercial potential. He
holds a BSc. (Honours) in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan
and is a member of the Licensing Executives Society. He is also an active
member of the Alberta Heritage Foundation Technology Commercialization
Committee and Canadian Institutes Health Research Commercialization
Management Grants Committee.

ABOUT PROTOX: Protox Therapeutics Inc. is developing novel therapeutics for
the treatment of cancer and other indications by engineering the naturally
occurring bacterial toxin Aerolysin, which kills cells by forming pores in them.
