PRX321

PRX321 is in clinical development for the treatment of primary brain cancer, specifically malignant astrocytoma and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Results from a Phase II clinical trial completed in patients with recurrent or progressive GBM showed there was no drug-related systemic toxicity. Based on encouraging safety and efficacy results from this trial, Protox is currently planning to conduct a Phase IIb clinical trial to determine the optimal dose for PRX321 in patients with this cancer.

A Phase I clinical trial has been completed for patients with recurrent, unresponsive metastatic renal cell and non-small cell lung carcinomas. In this study, escalating doses of PRX321 were administered in patients intravenously to determine the maximum tolerated dose. Based on the results of this study, Protox plans to continue evaluation of PRX321 in additional clinical trials.
